Blooms:
Double. The large blooms are
fully double and rather globular. Buds
are scrolled and open a creamy blush fading to white. Sometimes they are quartered or have muddled centers.

flush in the fall.
Color: White. with pale pink undertones. There is often yellow at the base of the curly central petals.

Has thorns. The foliage is pale green with serrated edges and
flexible canes. Easily trained.

Large, vigorous rose. Rampant
climber. Flowers may be borne singly or in clusters of about 3.
Foliage is light green on green stems.
It can handle some shade.
It
will probably require pruning to
keep it within bounds. Or, can be
grown as a very large climber.
Comments: Won Best-of-Show Victorian Rose in the ARS Rose show in New Bern, May, 2001 and again in 2005. In 1908 it was proclaimed to be the best white climber by the National Rose Society in England. It is known for its reliable health. This is an extremely easy rose to grow and well-suited to organic gardening methods.

Ernst Calvat and Roger Lambelin.
