Blooms:   Many-flowered umbels with flowers in white or yellow on slender pedicels.  Flowers are 1" across.

Description and Care:   Foliage is evergreen with dark green, leathery leaves that are slender and pointed.

Comments:   This is a gorgeous rose in the spring, but needs lots of room.  It will gladly take over large portions of your garden, or entirely encompass any building or arbor.

The white form, R. banksiae alba plena (R. banksiae banksiae) dates to 1807 and is reported to have a scent similar to violets.

Breeding

This picture is included because it gives you a general idea of the size of the bush in relation to a house (our house).  The bush is on the rightmost edge of the picture.  Keep in mind that if you do not trim it back, it will get even bigger than this.
