Comments: This is an odd color, but attractive rose with a brownish cast to the blossoms. It has not done especially well in my garden, nor have any of its "brethren" of Buck roses, so I have come to the conclusion that Buck roses do better in cooler, less humid, climates. It does not like any root competition at all, so it will need to be placed carefully. I initially planted this several feet in front of a clump of ornamental grass, and the rose pouted, never growing more than a couple of inches a season. When I removed the clump of grass, it responded very well--by growing a staggering three inches! Wow! (Note the heavy sarcasm.) As I said, they don't seem to like the South very well.
