 Blooms:  Very Double and free-flowering.  Round buds are burgundy and open to flat, quartered, very fully petaled deep pink to lilac-pink blooms.  The outer petals often reflex back.

 Bloom Frequency:  Continual bloom.

Color:  Deep pink.  The color tends more towards fuchsia-red with hints of purple and can sometimes be paler if the sun is hot.

 Fragrance:  Wonderful fruit and Damask rose fragrance.

 Thorns:  Has a few red thorns.

 Approximate Height: 6’ x 3’

 Description and Care:  Lanky and somewhat tall.

 History:  Yolande was the wife of Louis II, ruler of Provence and Aragon, later the King of the "Two Sicilies" which combined Sicily with Naples.  At the end of the Hundred Years War, this King and Queen owed much to the efforts of Jeanne, later canonized as Jeanne d'Arc, or Joan of Arc.

 Comments:  This is an extremely easy rose to grow and well-suited to organic gardening methods.  The foliage is fairly resistant to disease.
