Old Blush

Syn:  Common Blush China, Common Monthly, Old Pink Daily, Old Pink Monthly, Parsons' Pink China

ARS Rating:  8.7

Class:   Hybrid China

Date:  1752

Breeder:  Parsons

Blooms:  Semi-double

Bloom Frequency:  Dependably recurrent.  It pretty much blooms from early spring through frost.  It is my earliest rose to bloom and is often blooming with the daffodils.

Color:  Medium pink.  Ages to a beautiful rose shade.  The flowers are loose in typical China style.  The picture at the left shows one aging flower, in deeper rose pink, and one bud--to the right--which is about to open and is a pale pink.

Fragrance:  Slightly fragrant with a tea-like scent.

Thorns and Mossing:  A few thorns.

Approximate Height:  4’ by 5’

Description and Care:  Lovely delicate leaves and twig-like branches.  Can grow to be very large over time.

Comments:  This is an extremely easy rose to grow and well suited to organic gardening methods.
