Marchesa Boccella

Syn:

ARS Rating:

Class:   Hybrid Perpetual

Date:  1842

Breeder:

Blooms:  Flowers medium pink.

Bloom Frequency:  Repeats.

Color:  Medium pink.

Fragrance:  Fragrant.

Thorns:  Some prickles.

Approximate Height:  3' to 4' tall and approximately 3' wide

Description and Care:  It does suffer from  blackspot, and should be provided with ample water or it will suffer greatly.  I have found that it can shrug off the blackspot as long as it has fertilizer and sufficient water, so it works very well in an organic garden.

Comments:  Seems to do fairly well in the South and is generally vigorous.  As it grows older and becomes established, it seems to be troubled less by blackspot.  I do not spray and it has survived quite well and blooms vigorously.

Breeding:

Zones:  4-9
