Comments:  This is an extremely easy rose to grow, although it does suffer from black-spot, but it will survive with organic gardening methods.  Bred from Dusky Maiden x Tuscany.  Received as an orphan from Heirloom Roses (http://www.heirloomroses.com).

This lovely, wine red climbing (rambler) was purchased as an "orphan" at a discounted price because it had lost its identifying tag.  The flowers are medium-sized, very double in a rich, wine red color tending more towards a purplish, rather than crimson, hue. There is a rich scent, which really does remind you of a sweet, red wine. We had initially thought it was 'Tuscany' or at least related to 'Tuscany' but were later able to identify it as 'Chianti'.

It has a tendency to sucker and has very long, flexible canes.  The canes on this rose are heading towards the 15' mark and show no signs of stopping.
